And right now I plan to leave it that way. It’s part of me dealing with the separation of my class blog and my own input. I mean, after all, the minis and I do share the same classroom ![]()
So …
Al Upton and the miniLegends 08 are now two different blogs
http://alupton.edublogs.org/ and http://minilegends.edublogs.org/
And here is the minis new class blog avatar. It is an homage to their strong sense of community (meerkats), their global connections (previous class blog cluster map) and their sense of fun.
*** This blog on the other hand is totally removed from all class, school and educational organisations. I claim no responsibility to visitors of this blog and any external links that can be found within it. I welcome any ‘disclaimer’ ideas in the comments.
Having said that, I hope that there will be educational content that is of use to others.
Future posts will address a suggestion document created during a well represented meeting on May 2nd at education.au The closure of my class blog in some way triggered this all day event. Another example of positive action is my current compilation of a blogging framework. This framework outline can be seen on one of the pages above. It is important to recognise that nothing is ’set in concrete’ (it never will be) and the framework forms part of a risk assessment process that still continues. Equally it not ‘anything new’ but a compilation of ideas plus my own input. I reserve the absolute right to determine the composition of this framework in collaboration with my principal.
I have left the outline page open but protected the subpages until they are more established. Any ideas and suggestions are appreciated.
Consider the two blogs mentioned above as Phase One. Phase Two refers to further implementation of the framework. Phase Three will see individual student blogs reinstated, modified or created in accordance with the framework’s scaffolding and processes. I am introducing a Subscriber User Policy and hope this will allow students to participate in global connections – maximising authentic learning, minimising risk.
I welcome any other references and links to other positive action that is occurring. I am aware that this is a global issue.
Cheers, Al Upton
